It has been 6 months since i have been traveling around the world - Volunteering in projects that are addressing crucial societal problems at a time, meeting with local and global leaders on voicing out the concerns of the people within the community and speaking to the youths, to contribute and share their solutions to create a better living environment for their local people.
Throughout these 6 months, the trips have been really fruitful.
An example would be our trip to Guatemala, where we were involved with a Stove Building project in a small village in Santa Maria, near to Antigua, Guatemala.
The challenge faced by the locals here is that, they are usually poor and they could not afford to build a proper kitchen to do their daily cooking. Utilising what ever they could find around the them, small huts with no ventilation or proper kitchen appliances are usually erected within the compounds of their homes. These village kitchens may have served its purpose to provide cooked meals for poor families here. However, most of their children suffer from respiratory diseases from the cooking smoke and poor living conditions.
Building these cement stoves would not only provide them with a better facility to prepare warm meals for their families, but also a cleaner, healthier environment for their children.
This is Thank You message to both the global ambassadors for Your Big Year - Carielle Doe and Michael Teoh, on their work to change lives, 1 Life at A Time, from the head of the village at Santa Maria, near Antigua, Guatemala.
I believe that everyone has the right to a beautiful smile. Which is why I am advocating humanitarian services like operation smile for the under privileged children.

I wish I had been a part of this clean up act because I'm such an environmentalist. I join organizations that involves environmental services and it gives me such satisfaction every time we have projects.
